W M Building Services were responsible for the design development and installation of mechanical and plumbing services to a new production for Meggitt combining several UK plants into a single unit with over 45,000m² of floor space including a two storey 10,000m² main office. This included thermal modelling of all spaces and the production of 3D building model.

Services installed and commissioned include central machine extract systems from the process equipment to high pressure centrifugal fans located externally with vertical discharge stacks, factory heating and pressure controlled make up air with hot, cold water and rainwater installation to factory toilet blocks and process equipment. Due to the high volumes of process water required a 90,000 litre underground tank monitored from the BMS for consumption and controls the mains water fill to its most efficient levels when rainwater is not available. The offices are provided with LTHW gas fired boilers serving radiators, radiant panels, AHU coils and door curtains with VRF heating and cooling to offices spaces in both main and hub office. Central hot and cold water to all office spaces from rainwater and potable water tanks and boosters. The office is fitted out with feature ceilings which required close co-ordination with all trades to ensure the final solution was inline with the clients brief.

All HVAC systems & energy metering are connected to a site wide Trend Building Management System with all controllers communicated via the site wide data infrastructure.
